Capital Giving

C apital gifts are similar to your savings account and are used for special building projects which do not fall into the annual budget (e.g. the building of the Zuver Center or other major expenses such as the need for new classroom facilities.) Typically, capital campaign gifts are significantly larger in amount than annual fund donations and most often involve consulting one's accountant or financial planner. Due to the size of capital gifts, they are usually paid out over a period of three to five years. Capital giving is essential to maintaining facilities at an equal level to the programs offered at MDS.

Since 2000, Mount de Sales has successfully completed 2 Capital Campaigns. We will continue to sell seats in the David J. Zuver Center until all 649 seats are named.

Campaign 2003: Honoring the Promise

Goal: 3.5 million
Raised: 3.5 million

The purpose of the Honoring the Promise Campaign was the construction of the David J. Zuver Performing Arts Center and the renovation of the cafeteria. Through the generosity of a matching grant from a local foundation and the commitment of the Mount de Sales community, the long anticipated dream of a state of the art performing arts center became a reality. In the fall of 2004, the David J. Zuver Performing Arts Center was dedicated. Continuing gifts made to the Campaign 2003 will be used to purchase additional technology and art equipment.

Campaign 2000: Continuing our Commitment

Goal: 2 million
Raised: 2 million

The 2000 Capital Campaign had many purposes. Funds from this campaign assisted in constructing the field house at Cavalier Fields and were the seed money for the David J. Zuver Performing Arts Center. The completion of the Performing Arts Center was rolled into the "Campaign 2003: Honoring the Promise."
