Junior Tracey Owens is one of three high school students in the nation to win the Car Design News-General Motors (CDN-GM) Interactive Design Competition. For the contest, students created a 2030 Cadillac vehicle concept. Tracey designed a car he named the “Cadillac Empezar.” In Spanish “empezar” means the beginning, and Tracey chose the name to represent his car as the beginning of a line of Cadillac “super cars” that are high performing and fuel-efficient.
As a winner of the CDN-GM competition, Tracey will participate in the three-week Pre-college Summer Experience program at the College for Creative Studies. Additionally, he will receive a new iPad and a year’s subscription to Car Design News.
Tracey is the second Mount de Sales student to win the competition.
