President’s Message

Success Meets Tradition

Thank you for taking this opportunity to learn more about Mount de Sales Academy. We hope our website will provide you with some insight as to what makes the Academy such a special place for our students. Founded in 1876 by the Sisters of Mercy, we continue and grow the legacy of these courageous founding women by providing an environment that offers a rigorous curriculum, high behavioral expectations, and opportunities to grow closer to God.

Our  academic curriculum is designed to challenge students with a wide range of abilities and provides the foundation for future success in college and careers. We are proud of our students as they demonstrate their academic achievements through superior scores on standardized tests and acceptances into highly competitive colleges throughout the nation. These successes are the direct result of the emphasis our outstanding faculty place on fostering students’ critical and higher-level thinking skills that will serve as a basis for lifelong learning.

Another reason for the success of our students is their understanding of the sense of community that is essential to personal growth.  Their willingness to adhere to high behavioral and academic expectations is a part of daily life at Mount de Sales Academy, and this adds to the prestige our graduates feel in being alumni of great institution.

Finally, our Mercy in Action program is at the heart of our mission as a school sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy. Students learn what it means to live in mercy as they serve as shining lights within the community. Often, our students volunteer more than 14,000 hours each year by sharing quality time with the senior residents of St. Paul’s Apartments, painting houses through Rebuilding Macon, helping patrons of the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry, and so much more.

We invite you to visit our beautiful campus and become a part of  what we fondly call the “Mount de Sales Experience.”
