Success Meets Tradition
Thank you for taking this opportunity to learn more about Mount de Sales Academy. We hope our website will provide you with some insight as to what makes the Academy such a special place for our students. Founded in 1876 by the Sisters of Mercy, we strive to maintain and grow the legacy of these courageous founding women by providing an environment that offers a rigorous curriculum, high behavioral expectations, and opportunities to grow closer to God.
Our strong curriculum enriches our students with a well-rounded education, and we are quite proud of our outstanding successes demonstrated through superior scores from standardized tests and student acceptances into highly competitive colleges throughout the nation. The outstanding faculty at MDS places emphasis on challenging students toward critical and higher-level thinking skills that serve as a basis for life-long learning.
We realize that the COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges for families and schools as we work together to develop programs that meet the needs of our students. The teachers and staff at Mount de Sales are extraordinarily proud of the degree of preparation that has been done in order to offer quality education to all of our students, whether they attend school in person or opt to participate in our robust online program. Our school has an extensive technology system to support online learning, and our teachers have invested significant time to prepare for remote instruction.
Enhancing the Mount de Sales experience as a Catholic School sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy is the school’s Mercy in Action Program. Service is at the heart of our mission and students learn what it means to live in mercy. They serve as shining lights within the community through their 14,000+ hours of sharing quality time with the senior residents of St. Paul’s Apartments, painting houses through Rebuilding Macon, helping patrons of St. Peter Claver’s Food Pantry, and so much more.
We invite you to visit us and experience the extraordinary education that occurs each day at Mount de Sales Academy.
