Yes! All MDS students take religion classes. Sixth through tenth graders take a full year of theology; juniors and seniors elect semester classes from a wide range of interesting courses, including Holocaust Studies and World Religions. At MDS we are proud of our Catholic heritage and welcome students of all faiths.
Each theology and religion class will attend a weekly Mass at least once per semester. We also have Mass as an entire student body once a month and on Holy Days. These monthly Masses are held on campus in the Zuver Center Auditorium. Finally, we host special occasion Masses, such as Moving Up Day, Catholic Schools Week, and Baccalaureate Masses, which are held at historic and beautiful St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.

MDS offered a virtual option for families for 2020-2021. Because of the numerous advantages of live learning, MDS did not offer remote learning during the 2021-2022 academic year, and plan to remain in-person in the future unless there are unforeseen circumstances in which we have to do so for the safety and health of our students and faculty.
