[Macon, Georgia]Catholic private school, Mount de Sales Academy, located in Macon, Georgia, is excited to introduce the newest and furriest member of our campus community—Francis de Tails, or “Frankie,” an 11-week-old Golden Retriever who will serve as our official therapy dog!

Studies have shown that Animal-Assisted Education (AAE) helps reduce stress, supports students with diverse learning needs, enhances social skills, and contributes to overall mental well-being. As Frankie grows alongside our students and staff, he will train to become a certified therapy dog at one year old.

“We are thrilled to welcome Frankie to our campus,” said Kaylee Freeman, Middle School Head, who spearheads the initiative. “His presence will bring joy and comfort to our students and faculty, and we hope he will become a valuable companion not only here at MDS but also within our broader community.”

Beyond campus, Frankie will continue to make an impact by visiting partner organizations in the future, spreading warmth and support to those in need alongside our Mount de Sales students.

At Mount de Sales Academy, we believe in unleashing every student’s greatest potential—both emotionally and academically. Frankie is here to help make that journey even more enriching!

We invite the community to follow Frankie in his adventures on Instagram and TikTok at @mountdetails.
