The varsity softball team won its first-ever GHSA Class A Private Fast Pitch state title, beating two-time defending champion and #1 seed Wesleyan, not once but twice in the tournament series, snapping Wesleyan’s 29-game winning streak with their first win (4-2) over the Wolves in the Final Four. Wesleyan dominated the loser’s bracket and faced the Cavs again in the final. The Cavs won by a score of 2-0 to claim the state title. The Cavs defeated Stratford 3-2 in the Elite 8 and George Walton 2-1 in the semis.
