After claiming the program’s first GHSA Area Championship, the MDS wrestling team made history at the GHSA State Duals Championship, finishing 4th in the state. This is the program’s first GHSA state championship finish and the first time a wrestling team in Bibb County has ever placed at the GHSA State Duals Tournament.

MDS battled back from a 61-15 opening round loss to state runner-up Wesleyan to beat Turner County 42-27 in the consolation quarter finals, and Irwin County 48-36 in the consolation semi-finals, before falling to Trion 54-25 in the consolation finals.  It’s great to be a Cavalier!
