Will Pounds (Morehouse College) Maroon Tigers – Football
Will Pounds lettered for four years, and was a 2-year starter at linebacker for Mount de Sales. He will play football at Morehouse and plans to major in Accounting. Will led the team with 94 total tackles as a senior. He also added 3 sacks and 2 forced fumbles, and had double digit tackles vs. Stratford, FPD, Aquinas, Wilkinson County, and Montgomery County. Will was elected team captain as a senior by his peers, and was chosen on the GHSA Region 7A All-Region Team following his senior season. Will also finished 2nd on the team in tackles as a junior with 74.
Jack Lipson (Chattahoochee Community College) Pirates – Baseball
Jack has lettered for four years and started for four years on the MDS baseball team. He has either caught or pitched nearly every game the past three years. While pitching he struck out 127 batters in a total of 130.2 innings and accumulated 16 wins. As catcher, Jack has thrown out 10 runners and has a fielding percentage of .950. He has a compiled batting average of .317 and an on base percentage of .447 and has hit two homeruns. Jack scored 47 runs and has driven in 44 runs. He was honored as a Region 7A All Region performer both his 2015 and 2016 seasons. He was also honorable mention for the All Middle Georgia Team in 2016. Jack plans to pursue a business degree.
Zack Tong (University of Montevallo) Falcons – Baseball
Zack has lettered for four years and started for three years for the MDS baseball team. He has been an anchor at second base and pitched 12.2 innings striking out 14 batters. Zack has a three year fielding percentage of .910 with 170 total opportunities. He has compiled a batting average of .282 with an on base percentage of .441. Zack is hitting .387 in 2017. Zack has hit two HR while driving in 39 runs and scoring 42 times. Zach will major in physics with a path in mechanical engineering at Montevallo.
Brady Pool (Emmanuel College) Lions – Baseball
Brady has lettered for three years and started for two years for the MDS baseball team. He has manned the short stop position for the past two seasons. Brady has a two year fielding percentage of .953 with 140 total opportunities. He has compiled a batting average of .316 with a on base percentage .444. He has scored 35 runs while batting in 16. Brady was named to the GHSA Region 7A all region team and also name honorable mention for the All Middle Georgia Team in 2016. Brady will major in sports management.
Adam Leverett (Gordon State College) Highlanders – Baseball
Adam has lettered for four years and started for three years for the MDS baseball team. He has played wherever he has been needed finding a lot of time pitching, first, third, and some outfield. Over the last three years, Adam has pitched a total of 178.3 innings while striking out 224 batters and totaling 17 wins. Adam has stolen a total of 50 bases and scored 70 runs with 41 RBI. Since 2015, he has a batting average of .383 and an on base percentage of .489. Adam has a three year fielding percentage average of .979. He has been honored as a Member of the Region 7A All Region Team for both the 2015 and 2016 seasons. He was also voted to the All Middle Georgia Team in 2016. Adam plans to pursue a degree in engineering.
