Mrs. Emily Brown, MDS College Counselor

A group of juniors boarded a bus to the Classic City on Sunday, November 6 to learn more about UGA and the Catholic Center. They started the day with a tour of North Campus led by Cris Escalera, a member of the Catholic Student Association Advisory Board. The tour ended on Myers Quad where CSA members were there to hang out, answer questions and play football and Frisbee.

In the afternoon, Father Frank led the Mass at the Catholic Center and our group celebrated alongside UGA students. Mass was immediately followed by dinner, where 200+ hungry students came together to enjoy fellowship and delicious chili. Students met with David Briones, Director of Collegiate Activities and Religious Education, who described Catholic Center events and programs.

Before returning to Macon, students also toured the Ramsey Student Center and learned what the nation’s 2nd largest student athletic recreation facilities has to offer.

It was a great opportunity for our students to see college students putting their faith in action and to learn about the UGA Catholic Center.  We hope to make this an annual event!
