Girls Varsity Lacrosse: Coach John Hintermaier

The girls lacrosse team has seen tremendous success in the 4 years the class of 2020 has played. From a brand-new program in 2017 to hosting a playoff game in the 2019 season, this group of athletes can look back with pride on the foundation that they laid for the team. With their help, Coach Hintermaier is undefeated against Stratford and had the privilege of seeing both his lacrosse teams in the playoffs last year. The shortened 2020 season featured plenty of adversity, but the determination of the team to continue to improve from game-to-game was very encouraging and signals good things for the future.

Hailey Beall
2-year varsity team member
Hailey finished her career having appeared in 11 games, scoring 1 goal and picking up 12 ground balls.

Coach Hintermaier: “Known for her positive attitude and work ethic, Hailey made tremendous progress in learning the game over her two years on the team. Hailey is an accomplished equestrian, but took time away from her horses to develop into a real asset for our team.”

Elena Hintermaier

Elena finished her career having appeared in 36 games, scoring 23 goals and 4 assists. She also picked up 45 ground balls and won over 50% of the draws she took.

Coach Hintermaier: “Known for her fiery play and leadership, Elena was selected by her teammates to be one of the team captains this year. Her career highlight was the 5 goals she scored at Stratford in 2019 to secure our first-ever playoff berth. Elena will be taking her talents to the next level at Birmingham-Southern College.”

Payton Lautzenheiser

Coach Hintermaier: “Known for her stalwart defense and calm personality, Maggie was selected by her teammates to be one of the team captains this year. Maggie scored her first goal this year, but has prevented many more with her defensive ability.”

Taylor McElroy
3-year varsity team member
Taylor finished her career having appeared in 24 games, scoring 2 goals and 1 assist. She also picked up 25 groundballs.

Coach Hintermaier: “Known for her speed and tenacity, Taylor was selected by her teammates to be one of the team captains this year. Taylor was always a danger to take the ball all the way for a score, keeping opponents on their heels.”

Stella Wohl
3-year varsity team member
Stella finished her career having appeared in 23 games, scoring 15 goals and picking up 15 ground balls.

Coach Hintermaier: “Known for her defensive ability and tenacity, Stella found her scoring touch this year to become the team’s leading goal scorer. She always has a great sense of humor even if that sometimes means being able to laugh at herself.”

Molly Wray

Molly finished her career having appeared in 20 games, scoring 1 goal and picking up 16 ground balls.

Coach Hintermaier: “Known for her speed and ball-handling skills, Molly has been a key member of the midfield since joining the team. Despite an abrupt end to her season, Molly’s positive attitude and perseverance were tremendous assets to the team this year.”
