The deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor and many others – named and unnamed – have sparked a powerful call to action to end racism, violence, and injustice against Black and Brown people in our communities, the nation, and the world. Mount de Sales Academy unites in support of this call to action and stands in complete solidarity with our students, families, employees, and alumni who have been impacted by racial injustice.
As a Catholic community, Mount de Sales is committed to fostering an environment that promotes the Gospel values of recognizing the human dignity of each person. Mount de Sales strives to do the work needed even today to replace racial exclusion with inclusion and to be a leader in bringing about positive change. We are immensely proud to have a student body which continues to grow and thrive in its diversity.
The burden of addressing racism and long-standing injustices is the responsibility of everyone within the MDS family. We must continue to work together intentionally as a school community in order to initiate those changes necessary to bring about a society in which every person is treated with respect and dignity.
