Two of our rising seniors have created quite a buzz on campus! At a recent school assembly, Alanna Byrne and Katy Holloway educated the student body about the importance of honeybees to our ecosystem. They introduced a proposal that we join the effort to protect the bee population by purchasing an observation beehive, to be housed in the ARC (Academic Resource Center). They are working with the science faculty members on fund raising efforts. During these last few weeks of school they are simply collecting spare change, with plans to kick off a school-wide honey sale in August when we return. Please consider donating “honey money” to this worthy, student-led effort!
